Present: Campbell, Dhillon, Spearing, Bennett and M. Drenth

Absent: Potter, A. Drenth, Sowers, McCallum

Meeting called to order by Campbell at 7:00pm.

  1. Motion by Spearing, Dhillon to accept the regular minutes of December 11, 2023, as presented. CARRIED 4-0

PUBLIC INPUT:

DEPARMENTAL REPORTS: 

 

  1. Police:N/A
  1. DPW:Waiting for a new bid to resurface the track.
  1. Streets: N/A

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

  1. DDA:Meeting Wednesday January 10, 2024, to finalize location for the kiosk.
  1. Planning Commission:The January 11, 2024, meeting has been postponed until January 17, 2024.
  1. Parks and Recreation: Dhillon will meet with Sarah Essenberg, 2023 recreation director, to discuss if she is interested in continuing as director for the 2024 season.
  1. Finance Committee:Next year’s budget meeting will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 6:00pm.

DISCUSSION:

 

  1. Millage rate for 2024
  2. Wastewater project – Held meeting with Senator Damoose and Representative Roth to discuss seeking additional funding for our Wastewater Project.
  3. Pig Roast 2024 – Going forward.
  4. Antrim County Foundation – Spearing has contacted the newly formed Foundation to set up a meeting with them.
  5. Paddle Antrim – Successful event.Will be looking for someone to replace Mary Faculak when her term on their board expires.
  6. Parks Planning Meeting – Spearing has applied for a planning grant through Rotary Charities of Traverse City.
  7. Police Department – Discussion regarding an office building and a garage for the Police Car.

  1. Motion by Campbell, Spearing to approve the budget amendments. CARRIED 4-0
  1. Motion by Campbell, Spearing to approve the use of the Village Backhoe for Township Clean-up day May 11, 2024.CARRIED 4-0
  1. Motion by Spearing, Bennett to allocate ARPA funds to the Water Fund. CARRIED 4-0
  1. Motion by Spearing, Dhillon to approve a cost of living wage increase of 3.2% to all Village employees except for the police officer who will have an increase to $25.00 dollars per hour.  CARRIED 4-0
  1. Motion by Bennett, Dhillon to pay the bills.CARRIED 4-0
  1. Motion by Dhillon, Campbell to adjourn at 7:50pm.CARRIED 4-0
