Campbell opened budget hearing at 7:00 PM

 

The Finance Committee presented the 2021-2022 budget.  A short discussion on the budget was held.

 

Motion by Boss, Spearing to adjourn at 7:05pm.  CARRIED 7-0

Meeting called to order by Campbell at 7:05 PM

 

  1. Motion by McCallum, Palajac to accept the January 11, 2021 minutes as presented. CARRIED. 7-0

 

PUBLIC INPUT:

 

DEPARMENTAL REPORTS:

 

  1. Police: Chief McLean gave monthly police report. Also discussed issues with the current police vehicle and presented several options for the purchase of a different vehicle.  

 

  1. DPW: Discussed issues at the recycle center. The area around the bins needs some gravel and also some fencing to help keep debris from the containers blowing onto adjacent property.  Ongoing issue with articles left there that are not intended for recycle.

 

  1. Streets: N/A

 

COMMITTEE REPORT:

 

  1. Planning Commission: Did not meet in January 2021.

 

  1. Finance Committee: Presented budget for 2021-2022.

 

  1. DDA: There is ongoing discussion concerning a dog park. Discussion about some form of celebration. Would like to hold a contest of some sort for cleanup day and would the Village donate a prize of a weekend camping certificate to Wooden shoe Park.

.

 

DISCUSSION:

 

  1. 2021 Pig Roast/Fire Works: Will meet Thursday to discuss a scaled back celebration this year. Fireworks will be held July 3, 2021.
  2. Wastewater Sewer Project: Phase 1 of the environmental study has been completed.
  3. Dollar General: Continues to receive positive feed-back.

  1. Motion by Spearing, Boss to approve the 2021-2022 Budget. CARRIED: 7-0

 

  1. Motion by Sowers, Stewart to approve the Budget Amendments. CARRIED 7-0

 

  1. Motion by Boss, Sowers to approve reappoints to the DDA of Rusty Powers (term 1-1-2021 to 12-31-2025 (four years) and Mary Faculak (term 1-1-2021 to 12-31-2025 (four years). CARRIED 7

  1. Motion by Spearing, McCallum to approve Strange Security LLC/Mike Strange as the Village’s IT Company. CARRIED 6-0 Boss abstained because of conflict of interest.

 

  1. Motion by Boss, Spearing to approve Free Camping Weekend (no holidays) at Wooden shoe for DDA’s sponsored Cleanup Contest. CARRIED 7-0

 

  1. Motion by Boss, Sowers to pay the bills. CARRIED 7-0

 

  1. Motion by Palajac, Stewart to adjourn at 7:30pm. CARRIED 7-0
