VILLAGE OF ELLSWORTH COUNCIL MINUTES

REGULAR MEETING

BANKS TOWNSHIP HALL

SEPTEMBER 14, 2015

Present: Campbell, Boss, Sowers, Spearing, Kammerer, and Potter.

Absent: Stewart

Others: Tina Sundelius, Duane Arnott, William Gardner

Meeting called to order by Campbell at 7:00 PM

1. Motion by Boss/Spearing to accept the August 10, 2015 minutes as presented. CARRIED 5-0

PUBLIC INPUT: Discussion about archery program

DEPARMENTAL REPORTS:

Police: Campbell and Morris met with a security company to discuss the purchase of security cameras for the Village. There are grants available to help with the purchase of them.

DPW Streets: Water project is slowly moving ahead. Projected closing date of March 2016.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Planning Commission: Kammerer reported that they are working on a medical marijuana ordinance and updating of the master plan for the Village.

Parks and Recreation: Record revenue of $33,500.00 for the 2015 season. The current attendants will return for next year. We will be going to Squares for the processing of credit cards.

DISCUSSION:

a. Community Square Project: Some of Phase 2 will also be able to be completed with the funds raised.

b. Paddle Antrim: Thursday night there will be a band and a food truck at the Community Park and the public is invited. On Friday morning the Lioness and Lions of Ellsworth will be serving breakfast at the Ellsworth Town Hall that will also be open to the public. There is security in place for the kayaks that will be left at the Community Park on Thursday night.

c. A letter will be delivered to 9283 Main St. concerning there violation of the ordinance pertaining to fuel oil not stored in an approved container.

ACTION ITEMS:

3. Fill Trustee opening: Tabled until the October meeting

4. Motion by Sowers/Spearing to approve putting in the septic tank system for the Community Square this fall. CARRIED 5/0

5. Motion by Boss/Campbell to pay the bills. CARRIED 5/0

6. Motion by Spearing/ Boss to adjourn at 8:10. CARRIED 5/0
