REGULAR MEETING

Present: Spearing, Sowers, McCallum, Palajac, A. Drenth, Potter and M. Drenth

Absent: Campbell, Dhillon

Others:  Police Chief Byrd and Ross Maxwell

Meeting called to order by Spearing at 7:00pm.        

  1. Motion by Palajac, McCallum to accept the February 13, 2023, regular minutes and budget hearing minutes as presented. CARRIED 5-0

PUBLIC INPUT:  Maxwell presented a history of lake levels in reference to the Bridge Street culvert.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

  1. DDA:Logo has been chosen for rebranding.  Working on lining up musicians for summer concerts.
  2. Planning Commission: Did not meet.
  3. Parks and Recreation:N/A

DISCUSSION:

 

  1. Auditors (May?)
  2. 2023 Pig Roast – Moving forward.
  3. Wastewater Sewer Project – USDA – In holding pattern.Spearing making arrangements for a representative from the Watershed Council to come to a meeting with the Village Council.
  4. Ellsworth DWSRF Project (Water System Grant) – Campbell and Spearing are working with the MML (Michigan Municipal League) consultants to submit an application to update the water system.
  5. Present new Village logo – A black and white picture was presented by Spearing, a member of the DDA.  They are now working on the coloring for the logo.
  6. Chain of Lakes Hydrology study – Spearing is arranging a time for Leslie Meyers, Dam Administrator, to meet with Council.

  1. Motion by Sowers, Palajac to approve the budget amendments. CARRIED 5-0
  1. Motion by McCallum, Sowers to approve Paddle Antrim 2023 using our facilities September 15, 16 and 17.  CARRIED 5-0
  1. Motion by Palajac, McCallum to approve Pig Roast 2023 using our facilities.CARRIED 5-0
  1. Motion by Sowers, McCallum to make updates to Ordinance 101022 approved October 10, 2022, made necessary by the survey of the property.CARRIED 5-0
  1. Motion by Palajac, McCallum to pay the bills. CARRIED 5-0
  1. Motion by Palajac, McCallum to adjourn at 7:40pm.CARRIED 5-0
