REGULAR MEETING

BANKS TOWNSHIP HALL

APRIL 11, 2022

 

 

 

Present: Spearing, Boss, Sowers, McCallum, Palajac, Potter and Drenth

Absent: Campbell, Stewart

Others:  Chief Herrick, Jerry Rasmussen, Heidi Shaffer, Fred Gasper, Kathy Ingell

Meeting called to order by Spearing at 7:00 PM.

  1. Motion by Boss, McCallum to accept March 14, 2022, regular minutes as presented. CARRIED 5-0

PUBLIC INPUT:  Heidi Shaffer from Antrim County Soil Erosion, Antrim Conservation District presented plans regarding Ellsworth River Park.  She is looking at ways to address the erosion in that area.

 

DEPARMENTAL REPORTS: 

 

  1. Police:Police Chief Herrick gave his monthly report.  He has also introduced himself to Ellsworth Community School.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

  1. Planning Commission:No meeting was held.

DISCUSSION:

 

  1. Ellsworth River Park Project – Heidi Shaffer presented the proposed plans for River Park.
  2. Breezeway Garage Sale will be held May 27 and May 28.
  3. Clean up day Saturday May 14 from 8:00am to 12:00am – Banks Township sent letters to residents and the Village put a notice on water bills.
  4. Auditors – No date set yet.
  5. Paddle Antrim September 15, 16 and 17 – Moving forward
  6. Pig Roast June 17 and 18 – Moving forward
  7. Wastewater Treatment system update – All documentation required by the USDA has been completed and sent to them.Waiting for the application to be submitted.
  8. Farmers Market – Decision has been made to no longer have the market due to lack of participation.
  9. DDA Update – The DDA is holding a reception at Banks Township Hall May 12 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. They will introduce themselves and present their goals and priorities as a board. Beckett and Raeder are the sponsors for the reception.
  10. Opening of Wooden Shoe Campground May 15 – Looks like it will be another busy season.
