REGULAR MEETING

APRIL 10, 2023

 

 

Present: Spearing, McCallum, Palajac, Sowers, A. Drenth, Dhillon and Drenth

 

Absent: Campbell, Potter

 

Others:  Police Chief Byrd, Jerry Rasmussen

 

Meeting called to order by Spearing at 7:00pm.

 

  1. Motion by Spearing, McCallum to accept the March 13, 2023, regular minutes as presented. CARRIED 6-0

 

PUBLIC INPUT:  Discussion:  Blight in the Village.  Moving location of the radar sign coming in from East Jordan.  ECS 8th grade class is working on a project concerning the track at the Sports Park.

 

 

DEPARMENTAL REPORTS: 

 

  1. Police:Police Chief Byrd presented report.
  2. Streets:N/A
  3. Parks/Recreation:N/A

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

  1. DDA:The choosing of a new logo for the Village of Ellsworth has been finalized.  Six concerts will be held this summer at the Community Square.
  2. Planning Commission: Did not meet.
  3. Parks and Recreation:N/A

 

DISCUSSION:

 

  1. Ellsworth River Park Project – We did not receive funding in round one…there are two more rounds in which we will compete.
  2. Breezeway Garage Sale – May 26 & 27.
  3. Clean up day Saturday May 13 – We will send a letter to residents informing them of the date.
  4. Auditors – Will be here May 30 and 31.
  5. Paddle Antrim – September 14-16.
  6. Pig Roast – June 17 & 18.
  7. Wastewater Treatment system update – We received notice from the USDA that our grant application has been approved. There will be a project plan public meeting April 27, 2023, at 6:00pm regarding the CWSRF grant.
  8. DWSRF Project – Researching infrastructure grant opportunities for water and sewer projects.There will be a special meeting April 27, 2023, at 6:00pm.
  9. Opening of Wooden Shoe Campground – May 15, 2023.
  10. Recycling bin issue – There is currently no camera at the site.A representative from Antrim County will attend the June 12, 2023, meeting to address the issue.
