Meeting called to order by Spearing at 7:00 PM
- Motion by Spearing, McCallum to accept March 8, 2021 regular minutes as presented. CARRIED 5-0
- Meeting on April 12, 2021 canceled.
PUBLIC INPUT:
DEPARMENTAL REPORTS:
- Police: Chief McLean absent but submitted monthly report which was distributed.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
- Planning Commission: Did not meet month of April 2021.
- Parks and Recreation: Drenth submitted report on the summer recreation program. Spearing
announced that the Village received a $5000.00 grant from Great Lakes Energy to be used to help establish a pickle ball court.
- DDA: Things they are discussing – a designated truck route thru the Village, establishing a Community Pride Day and working to preserve Ellsworth Lake and Ellsworth-St. Clair Lake.
DISCUSSION:
- 2021 Pig Roast – Will take place June 19 but has been scaled back. Still in need of volunteers.
- 2021 Fireworks – Scheduled for July 3.
- Breezeway Garage Sale May 28 and 29 – A banner has been placed at the Community Square announcing the event.
- Farmers Market – Opened for the season Saturday May 8.
- Paddle Antrim – Ribbon cutting will take place May 26 at 1:30pm at the Community Park.
- 2020-2021Auditors – The date for auditors has been changed to May 26, 27 and 28.
- Mural – The mural of the old depot station has been damaged. Will need to be repaired and relocated.
- Delinquent water bills – Letters have been mailed to customers with an outstanding balance more than $100.00.
- Gold Nugget – Kaila Thomas is now ½ owner and has plans to expand with the addition of a Beer Garden and outside seating. Some of the property has been declared contaminated and a consultant, recommended by EGLE, has been working with her to help obtain funding for the project.
- Kayak rental – A drawing to show what the rental unit will look like was passed out.
- Sewer system – We have been informed our low mod figures will continue to be used for the project.
We have also been advised the scope of the project may have to be scaled back.
- Recycle Center – Antrim County has installed security cameras at the sight.
ACTION ITEMS:
- Motion by Boss, Palajac to contribute $500.00 to the Pig Roast and $1,000.00 to the Fireworks. CARRIED 5-0
- Motion by Sowers, McCallum to approve the painting of River Park Pavilion in the amount of $4,500.00. CARRIED 5-0
- Motion by Palajac, McCallum to approve the Culvert Grant Replacement Resolution. CARRIED 5-0
- Motion by Boss, Sowers to approve Planning Commission Annual Report. CARRIED 5-0
- Motion by Boss, Palajac to pay the bills. CARRIED 5-0
- Motion by McCallum, Spearing to adjourn at 7:50pm. CARRIED 5-0
