 REGULAR MEETING

Monday, June 24, 2024

Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by chairperson, Mary Faculak.

Members present: Mary Faculak, Lynn Spearing, Chris Wallace, Tina Sundelius, Hugh Campbell, Ginny McCallum, Chris Randall.

Members absent: Nate Swailes.

Approval of the Agenda:

A motion to approve the agenda was made by Campbell, seconded by Randall. Motion carried by unanimous consent.

Approval of the Minutes:

A motion to approve the meeting Minutes from the May 20, 2024 regular meeting as presented was made by Spearing, seconded by Wallace. Motion carried by unanimous consent.

Treasurer’s Report:

Campbell reported that the bank balance was $8,646.00. Concerts on the Square payments will be due soon.  A motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report was made by Campbell, seconded by McCallum. Motion carried by unanimous consent.

Way finding Signage: Spearing contacted Pro Image with our suggestions on a better fit for the signage near the entrance to Community Park. They submitted a mockup of those changes which includes 3 signs, one at Rushton & Bridge Streets ($2,965), one at Bridge & Lake Streets ($2,965), and one at the park entrance ($3,770). After discussion it was decided by general consent to purchase only one sign right now. The directional/informational sign located near the entrance of Community Park for $3,770.

Student Representative: After discussion it was decided by general consent to ask the East Jordan DDA student representative, Riley Cannon, to come speak with us and give a presentation to Ellsworth students identified by Jessica VanderHart as potential liaisons to our board.

Concerts on the Square: First concert kicks off this week.

 

Chairperson Report:  Breezeway & Ellsworth Village banners are on display at the Clare Welcome Center, on the northbound side.  The new Breezeway signs are in storage because there has been no one to install them.

 

Village: Handicap accessible swings, a merry go round & bouncy toy have been purchased for the River Park Playground, will be installed soon. A grant from the Grand Traverse Track Club to resurface the track at sports Park was received. The ribbon cutting at the new Sports Park shed went well.

 

Informational Meetings:  State of the Community to immediately follow this meeting.

Adjournment:

A motion to adjourn was made by Faculak, seconded by Sundelius. The next regular meeting will be held on September 30, 2024.
