REGULAR MEETING

December 16, 2019

Meeting called to order at 5:04pm by Rusty Powers, Chairperson.

  • Members Present: Rusty Powers, Hugh Campbell, Jan Rasmussen, Tina Sundelius, Mary Peterson, Judy Worgess, Marci Palajac and Julie Waterman.

  • Members Absent: Mary Faculak

  • Others Present: Lynn Spearing

Agenda: Moved by Peterson to approve the meeting agenda, seconded by Worgess. Motion carried by unanimous consent.

Meeting Minutes: Moved by Sundelius to approve the minutes from the November 25th regular meeting, seconded by Rasmussen. Motion carried by unanimous consent.

Treasurer’s Report: Peterson reported that the DDA has no financial accounts or funds at this time.

Village of Ellsworth Report: Village President Campbell reported that the Village has hired Lacey McLean as a part-time police officer for Ellsworth. The building permits are in place for the gazebo to go up in the spring. Holiday Fest was a success. Dollar General is working at getting part of the property where the recycling boxes are located. Grant application was sent for the waste water treatment plant property. State of the Community event will be January 15th.

Committee Reports:

  • Water Trail Initiative: Nothing to report at this time. It was requested that Sundelius invite Deana Jerdee from Paddle Antrim to the State of the Community event.

  • Blight Control: Nothing to report at this time.

  • Ellsworth Beautification: Nothing to report at this time.

  • Business Retention and Recruitment: Nothing to report at this time.

  • Farmers Market: Nothing to report at this time.

Old Business:

  • Breezeway Paddlesports will be invited to the next DDA meeting. Discussion occurred on how the DDA can provide assistance to the new company.

New Business:

  • Open discussion of future projects. Including; Pig Roast, Village and Township cleanup and cleanup day (Powers to get trailers and Spearing to make flyers), State of the Community event, Gazebo for Community Square (ribbon cutting and music possibly on Wednesday of Lancer Leap), Movie Night ideas, liquor license for DDA.

Public Comments:

  • No public comment.

Motion to adjourn at 6:08pm by Campbell and seconded by Peterson. Motion carried by unanimous consent.

The next regular meeting will be held Monday, January 27, 2020 at 6:00pm at the Banks Township Hall located at 6520 Center Street in Ellsworth. 231-588-7411.
